Surf The Nation making a difference in this world.

"Surfers  giving back"

I was looking for something to do this weekend and was supposed to shoot the Paddlers at dukes. Instead I ran across a surf venue I had never seen in Waikiki  before and I live here. What were the odds  hu?

I watched as gromies lined up at 7 am to find there name on a roster. A guy stood behind a booth calling out for kids by name for heats. Parents, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles were shuffling around to get the last  rub of board wax on there kids boards, shoving colored jerseys on em and wishing them luck as they sent them down to the waters edge.

Kids giggled and joked about what color jersey they got. Heats were called out and like clock work they knew when to paddleout.

I did not know that "Surf the Nation"is a surf venue of Christian, giving people kind like on a "Feed the children" campaign, only on a whole other level.

When I got home I looked em up on line and was shocked and surprised at how much these guys do and contribute to communities, homeless, and our at risk youth!

Props to "Surf the Nation" and all they do, so  I challenge you to look into this website, dig inside yourself and say "what could I do to help"? www.surfthenations.com

SURF THE NATION

I had the pleasure of attending this extraordinary surfing event starting with the Groms. What they do for others is what we all should be doing.
