The 15 year old from ewa, captures the contest.The final day of the eight day event was run  in 3 to 4 foot waves in Salinas Ecuador. Hawaii had lead the over all team standing during the event.Asing who attends Elite Element Academy as a sophomore has accomplished his biggest event. His two wave total score was 17.54.His best performance of all week. Asing took the lead with 10 minutes remaining.

Lima Claims Victory at Rip Curl Women's Pro

BELLS BEACH, Victoria (Sunday, April 12, 2009) – Silvana Lima (BRA), 24, claimed her title ASP Women’s World Tour victory today, defeating reigning two-time ASP Women’s World Champion and two-time defending event winner Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 21, to take the Rip Curl Women’s Pro presented by Ford New Fiesta and become the first Brazilian in history ever to win at Rip Curl venue in Bells Beach.

Event No. 2 of 8 on the 2009 ASP Women’s World Tour, the Rip Curl Women’s Pro culminated today with an action-packed Final that saw both athletes pushing the levels of high-performance surfing. Despite both surfers racking up high scores, it was Lima who would beat out Gilmore.

Jeff Hubbard wins for the first time in Peru making history for the IBA tour! He defeted local Jorge Hurtado to bring it home to Hawaii. With over 6,000 on lookers the IBA is alive and well! The men pack up and head twards arica for the second grand slam.

Hawaii's own Jeff Hubbard  got the best moves around. While hardy was close on the kill, It was hubbard who closed him out of the win. Hubbard is on fire this season after winning in Peru earler this season. On the first wave run, Hubbard scored an amazing ARS and then a  awsome Back Flip.The crowd  roared with excitment  as Jeff Hubbard  set his sites to win the Sintra Portugal Pro."I've always wanted to win this event and I finally made it", said Jeff Hubbard. 25th Quiksilver Eddie Aikau is won Greg Long

The 26 year old surfer Greg Long from San Clamente California takes home the prize and a awesome experience. Long closes the Eddie with a perfect 100 score With a killer drop from the top of a 50 foot wave."I'm still standing here in aww,I also want to go and check the scores to make sure no one is going to come here and take this away" said long.

Long has established himself as a big wave rider  winning Big wave contest  at Mavericks, California and the recent Billabong XXl. 'It's pretty hard to put into words what this actually means" he said.  Greg Long is the first Californian to take the title at the Eddie. The "Eddie Aikau " event has awed thousands of spectators as ocean front seating was rare. it was standing room only. The estimated 25,000 people cheered on the surfers as they dropped from the top of the wave one after another. Huge waves with faces 40 plus turned up the heat on surfers as they competed for $55,000 dollars  in prize money and a extra bonus from Monster organizers.

Legend Tom Carroll from Australia was taken out of the Compition on Mondays run after shattering his ankle in a epic wipe out.

"It's a great tribute to Eddie Aikau and Mark Foo, surfers whom have died in surf or sea, you would think we wouldn't temp mother nature knowing that, but I am sure they wouldn't have gone any other way". said Hector of Waikiki.

Taj Burrow sleals it all away in the last heat with a 12.83 "Ali Oop"ride, while Kelly Slater brings a 7.10 ride.  The Triple Crown ends on a high note as fans of Taj Burrow celibrate his victory over Champion Kelly Slater and his big money win $55,000.

The triple crown started out with heated Action from Joel Centieo  of Haleiwa Hawaii as he clutched the Reef Pro away from four other contenders winning him $20,000 the biggest purse in his career.

In the thick of things  a huge swell brought 40 plus size wave to North shore to intice surfers for the Eddie Aikau that snuck between the heats of the O'neil and billibong pro.

The Oneil World cup was clutched by Joel parkinson  (28) of  Australia with  battle between Sunny Garcia and Joel in the final heat. Joel winning with a 6.17 score taking $50,000 and a bonus. The biggest crowd turned out to sun Set Beach for this event.

Let's not leave the Billibong Battle out, Kelly Slater and Taj Burrow went head to head in the last heat with Slater only scoring 9 waves leaving him a score of 7.10 befor the buzzer.  Taj Burrow grabs the last Jewel away from Slater with a score of 12.83 and 11 waves riden. Taj Burrow also qaulifies for the 2010 ASP tour  along with Dean Morrison , Dane Reynolds and Cj Hobgood.

"It has been a exciting surf season here on the North shore in 2009. With Back to back action and talent bursting on a day to day basis this will problly never go down like this again. I made it down there with two kids in tow to shoot ALL of thease history making events and i will never forget it, never! I do it cause i love it!

19 year old Pro Body Boarder Mccurdy dies after jump

Australian Wade Mcurdy Dies after jumping with friend from the 60 foot high Daweville bridge. Witness said he and a friend jumped and Wade never surfaced. Wade was a WA Champion Boarder he was 19. Prayers go out to his family.
