The 2008 O'Neill cup World Championship at North Shore

Why they surf it? Why do we flock to watch? " I think it's the thrill of the ride, the chase of the chase" says Christina, "I came down to do a photo shoot and was just mesmerized by the shear power of the waves, and to think how humans are merely a dot in the sand, can withstand the tremendous force of the ocean". she went on to say "These guys and women in the sport of surfing are just phenomenal athletes and every sense of the word competitive, nothing seems to stop them from doing what they love not even a 20 foot wave".

The O'Neill World Cup of Surfing is the second of three stops that comprise the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. It is also the final World Qualifying event on the 2008 ASP World Tour.
